Luitpold am See in Prien am Chiemsee

Great location right on the Chiemsee. Small but nice.

Unfortunately we were very skillfully overlooked. After a wave the waitress came. After we had ordered the drinks, the waitress ignored us. Our granddaughter just wanted to have a bite to eat, but no waiter came by to place an order. After another wink (after about 15 minutes) an order came in. So we don't recommend it and there are nicer places here by the water.

We wanted to spend two nights in this hotel to explore the Chiemsee and the surrounding area by bike. This hotel is located directly on the offshoot of the Herren / Fraueninsel, next to a tourist train station and a ferris wheel. The background noise is accordingly. In addition, our room on floor 3 was rather shabby and smelled very unpleasant, so that we had to cancel our stay upon arrival on site - against payment. Additional info: Prien am Chiemsee is the absolute paradise for retirees. We as a couple can only advise against staying here.

According to the internet, open until 11 p.m., arrival 8:45 p.m. No more food, unfriendly service, from 9 p.m. the umbrellas are rolled up over the heads of the guests. At 21:20 you ask for payment, you are already "over the top". Ok, after work it will be 9 p.m. instead, which is what you let the guests feel. No recommendation!

Actually, one star is much too good. Due to corona rules, I waited until a table was assigned, which unfortunately did not happen after 15 minutes. We were skilfully ignored, even after chasing the two waiters and addressing them personally, they looked through us ... The good reviews can only be bought because we weren't the only ones who left the restaurant hungry and cursed. People, avoid this dump despite the great location !!!!

Sensational location. Directly at the port and port station. Room a bit shabby but still passable. Rather average restaurant. Still 5 stars due to the location

Jägerschnitzel eaten with mushroom sauce and spaetzle. Overall, only the meat was warm and the rest was almost cold. TK goods? Operation visibly overwhelmed and very unfriendly. Definitely not a visit anymore

Beer garden half empty, 4 waitresses wandering around disoriented, no one comes for half an hour, then 3 at a time, the responsibility for the tables does not seem clear. Personal details (Corona) are NOT recorded. Ice cream parlor after 45 minutes after asking several times. And that in a renowned hotel.

We stayed there for two days. 1. Unfortunately I have to say I was disappointed with the room, for € 152 a night. We had a room downstairs where anyone who passed could look inside. People passed right by the window. The shower was also pretty small. 2. Breakfast wasn't really good either. There was a plate with a few cheeses and sausages on it ... that you have to share two .... But there was the same every day & only in very small portions no buffet as you normally know it. There were also no usual items like pancakes, bacon, etc. 3. The only positive thing was that the staff was very friendly. But that was the only thing. I don't want to recommend the hotel to anyone.

Nice beer garden right on the lake, the food tastes good, the sausage salad lacks the whistle, roast pork with beer sauce and dumplings are delicious, service was great, they were brought to the table, fast and friendly service, great selection of cakes, freshly grilled lamb or suckling pig in the evening.

You have to be aware of where this restaurant is located and who is the target group accordingly: the tourists passing through. You can tell in the food and the service: the dishes are okay, but nothing more. Most of them look like convenience goods - edible, but you don't need to go out to eat. The service is solidly experienced. The prices are reasonable for the location. For a stopover that is on the way okay, but neither worth a trip nor a second visit.

The restaurant is by far the worst Bavarian restaurant I've ever been to! 1. If you are not even greeted by the service, you seem very unfriendly, which is absolutely impossible! 2. What kind of meal is that, please? How can you still sell something like that? The meat looked like it had been warmed up and tasted like it. The food came after less than 10 minutes. The dumplings are very small and anything but fresh! They were definitely finished products! The meat was absolutely not good and neither was the sauce! There were 5 of us here and we are all extremely disappointed! Not even 1 * earned!

Very good food, only the service is not quite as attentive. Otherwise nice restaurant and wonderful view.

Unfortunately, the other recessions were right. The rooms in house 2 are unfortunately not a hit. Like others already wrote "a better youth hostel". Very noisy, small bathroom, only 4 TV programs that go. The breakfast was 1a (despite Corona time) with a great view of the lake!

Hotel is old, but everything is clean. The best location you can imagine. You are in 3 min. At the water and at the attractions. The best is the kitchen, we would like to give 10 stars. every dish is a poem. Service staff and reception are all very nice. We will be back.

Quiet hotel, newly renovated rooms, right on the lake

We wanted to have a drink on the terrace and did Corona compliant and waited. Although several places were free we were ignored and other guests who simply sat down were served without complaining. We waited together with other potential guests for 30 minutes at the designated place without being spoken to by a waiter. Then went like all other waiting guests.

Very pleasant hotel right on the Chiemsee. The room was spacious with a bathroom and enough space for the baby bed. The room and bathroom was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly and met all our needs. The breakfast was sufficient, everything was offered what you could wish for. However, the selection of sausages was a bit sparse and what bothered me a little was the discoloration of the sausage. It was certainly aimed at the plates the evening before and lost its color, which did not look nice when placed on bread. The lady was really quick at breakfast and immediately brought everyone the drink they wanted. The location of the hotel is great. It is right on the jetty from where the excursion boats start. There are many restaurants in the vicinity that can be easily reached on foot. The Prienavera is also just around the corner. A stay at the Chiemsee. We'd love to come back :)

Best place

Excellent and delicious cake and coffee.

Here you can linger, good food and has a beautiful lake view. Cozy restaurant with terrace, beer garden and Bavarian flair. The steamer dock and the historic Chiemsee Bahn are in the immediate vicinity.

Nice big room under the roof. Very nice reception. From the breakfast room from a wonderful view of the lake - for breakfast outside it was unfortunately too cold! The only criticism: The pillow was a bit lumpy. Otherwise: very nice stay!

Horrible experience . they only wants to serve large groups. Went in there had to wait forever for service easyjet looked at us the times. still wouldn't serve us. radiant half empty. finally, iI asked for some attention. however, they didn't want to serve what we wanted because it's against restaurant policy - just warming up a couple of sausages is so difficult or not big enough a bill? served groups the exact food we wanted.

Worst service ever experienced. Unbelievably rude waiter abusing guests and horrible food. Would give this 0 stars. Waste of money.

The staff at the reception and at the cafe reception was very kind. The location is the best if you are planning to use a boat and visit one of the islands or if you want to go to the swimming park 'Erlebnisbad'. The only complain i have, is the Wi-Fi connection. Login information will be provided, but the bandwith is so low, you will stuck on the login page. I repeated the the login procedure several times. After about 10 minutes i was lucky. The reason i still give 5 stars is that i didn't really had time to use it. There was enough to do outside the hotel ;)

Really nice family room - in the old building with views over the lake. Very clean and friendly staff. Surprisingly quiet - given that our room overlooked the outside area of the restaurant. Only criticism is very poor WiFi signal (critical when travelling with teenagers!) and the fruit salad, which was really an 'apple salad' - perhaps the other guests got there first and picked out the good stuff.

Average quality hotel is clean and friendly. Value for money is good although don't expect the buffet breakfast to run room smoothly in high season. Hotel building 2 has no reception and is situated across from a car park that can be noisy from early to late. Great position for exploring the area though. Nearby restaurants suitable for all tastes.
